The Card of Financial Responsibility

In his book Love Cards, Robert Camp calls the 6 of Diamonds The Card of Financial Responsibility.

All sixes have come into this life to learn the lessons of responsibility. They are governed by karma and fate, and in the case of a Diamond, that responsibility is of values. The symbol of the 6 is the double Trinity, or Star of David. According to the ancient philosophers, 6 is considered the perfect number, representing beauty, harmony, and completion. The 6 of Diamonds person is here to complete, settle, or balance debts relating to money or other values. Their mission is also to plant causes and reap effects. They are the messengers of Divine Law.  Notice that the 6 pointed Star of David, the Divine reflected in the human, is also the symbol used by police and other law enforcement agencies.

Like all the cards, the 6 of Diamonds has a high side and a low side. Those that operate on the high side find fulfillment and happiness in the completion of their obligations. They are considered to be the cosmic parent, comforter, educator, and protector.

On the flip side, all sixes, including the Diamond can easily get in a rut and stay there, sometimes for years! Rather than being a responsible person, they seek to escape their obligations, becoming lazy and selfish. They may become a law until themselves, and end up being criminals, rather than being the messenger of Divine Law, which is their birthright, thus wreaking havoc in their lives, and the lives of their family.

The good news is that for the most part, the 6 of Diamonds, as Florence Campbell says in her book, Sacred Symbols of the Ancients, that "as a rule they are responsible and dependable, bearers of burdens for others, comforters and harmonizers. "

The 6 of Diamonds person can balance all debts in this lifetime. Just imagine having all karmic debts of values canceled, payed in full! What a wonderful feeling of relief and lightness!

A Few Characteristics of the 6 of Diamonds Person

In this article, I am just touching on a few of the characteristics of this person. Much more detailed information can be found in Robert Camps books, and in Sacred Symbols of the Ancients by Florence Campbell.

Money is vitally important to this person and often they will, at a young age, want to begin earning even before they know what occupation they are suited for. Many of them are unwilling to bother with getting the education they need to be successful in their area of interest. Yet, they have excellent earning power and should, early on, lay a firm foundation in their chosen field.

There quite likely may have been much domination by their mother or other significant female in their formative years, which may lead to negativity.

These people make friends easily and are always involved with the opposite sex. They are quite dependent on love and affection and can be emotionally devastated very easily, which they try to mask with a pleasant or tough front. In many cases they have brought these situations upon themselves by their mental approach to romance, thinking that everything will go as they have planned in their own mind. Yet, when painful betrayals and emotional losses are experienced, often the 6 of Diamonds will become physically ill, more so than the other cards.

In their activities, success is guaranteed if the right sense of values is applied. Six of Diamonds should never gamble nor become involved in financial speculation. Their profits from work come easily and equal success can be can be found in religious vocations as a teacher.

Robert Camp notes that the 6 of Diamonds, because of their competitive nature, make some of the best athletes. Actually all the 6's tend to be competitive and many of them are athletic, yet the 6 of Diamonds has more than it's share of athletes, including the professional ones.

6 of Diamonds on April 15

April 15th is not the only birth date of the 6 of Diamonds. There are 10 other dates, spread throughout the year. Each has it's own unique characteristics that differ slightly, or quite a lot, from the other dates. In addition, most of the others have a second card, called the Planetary Ruling Card that has a major influence on the person. In fact, in some people the impact is so strong that they will actually live out their ruling card, which takes precedence over their birth card.

The Planetary Ruling Card for the 6 of Diamonds born on April 15 is the 10 of Diamonds, called the "Blessed Card."

The ruling planet for the April 15th date is Mars. Money comes easily to you but will burn a hole in the pocket. This is a challenge in your life that you will have to come to terms with at some point, and overcome. Otherwise you may find yourself in poverty at retirement with nothing to fall back on, except perhaps a meager Social Security income.

Great success can be had as an attorney or an agent of some sort. You would also be very good as a promoter, a banker, theologian or writer.

You tend to be a pioneer, progressive, and influential.

The 6 is Diamonds is represented by the 6 of Pentacles in the Tarot Deck.

Your Destiny

Your birth card is not just about your traits and opportunities. It's also all about your Destiny. Everyone want to know what their purpose is and why they're here now. It's very mysterious, yet by tapping into this universal knowledge we can get a better understanding of what life is offering us, personally, and how to turn failures into triumphs. We can seize opportunities that are brought to us each season, each year, and know when to lay low and patiently wait for certain other outcomes.

I have just barely tipped the tip of the iceberg here. These symbolic birth cards are vast and far-reaching. Robert Camp's book Cards of Your Destiny describe the strongest influences on every year of your life. For example, as a 6 of Diamonds, if this birthday you turn 30, the influences of your Long-Range Card, symbolized by the King of Hearts, symbolizes Romantic or Social Success.  For women it can mean finding a significant lover this year.  For a man, being a father may be a major role.  Camp states that "The King of Hearts rules through love...and you can apply this powerful card to your personal and professional life this year to great success."

Another example would be if you turn 34 today, the Queen of Hearts as your long-range card is a strong influence and indicator for a marriage this year,

How wonderful would it be to be able to plan ahead, knowing when the best timing is occurring for any given purpose?  The Destiny Cards can be a great help along your life path.

Why Do I Need to Know This Stuff?

Good question!  In addition to the ideas of knowing your own destiny and planning important life events, and learning what your purpose is here, now, I have my own special reasons for wanting to know these things.  I believe that this is so important to our happiness and human evolution that everyone would benefit by having at least a rudimentary knowledge of these teachings.

Just imagine if you understood why people do the things they do, why they act the way they act, and why they don't do what you think would be good or best for them, would that be helpful to you?  I think so.  It surely has helped me to understand others, appreciate their gifts and ways, and also it completely takes away judgment! We've all been taught not to judge----"Judge not that ye be not judged"---yet it's hard not to.  We often don't understand why others can't "see" what we see.

The great thing about this is the opposite of judgment, and that is acceptance. What a great relief.  We no longer rail against what is when our children or spouse or someone else close to us handles things differently than we do.  Now we know.  You can understand anyone by learning their birth card.  Now, instead of saying "I just don't understand why"  there is so much satisfaction in saying, "Oh, he's a 6 of Diamonds, that's why."  We allow people to be who they are much more easily. Everyone is happier.

Also, we learn to accept and appreciate our own selves.  We stop beating ourselves up, even if we make mistakes.  We accept that even though I want to do this, my talent is for that. There are always new opportunities, and as we learn more about ourselves we can learn what our particular challenges are and work on overcoming those.

If you would like to go into depth with this, a great book is Sacred Symbols of the Ancients by Edith Randall and Florence Campbell.  This book is out of print and quite expensive if you can find it.  The others I have learned a great deal from are Love Cards, What your Birthday Reveals About You and Your Personal Relationships, and Cards of Your Destiny, both by Robert Camp.
